當地時間10月19日，美國有線電視新聞網（CNN）以“中國經濟讓全世界都眼紅”（China’s economy is the envy of the world ）為題報道瞭這一幕。
《紐約時報》：疫情得到有效控制，中國三季度經濟快速反彈
《紐約時報》也報道稱，當世界大部分地區仍在艱難應對新冠疫情之時，中國再次向世界表明，隻要病毒能得到有效控制，經濟就有可能快速反彈。
As most of the world still struggles with the coronavirus pandemic, China is showing once again that a fast economic rebound is possible when the virus is brought firmly under control.
疫情大考下，今年中國前三季度經濟增長由負轉正，CNN報道稱：正向世界展示成功控制住新冠疫情的可能性。19日上午，中國國傢統計局公佈瞭三季度經濟數據，多個指標由負轉正。這表明，中國經濟正延續穩定恢復態勢。
中國政府周一公佈的數據顯示，中國經濟第三季度增長4.9%，這一數據向世界其他國傢展示瞭新冠肺炎成功控制後可以達到的目標。
China’s economy expanded by 4.9% in the third quarter compared to the previous year, according to government data published Monday, showing the rest of the world what’s possible when Covid-19 is brought under control.
昨天（10月19日），國傢統計局對外發佈瞭前三季度經濟數據。初步核算，前三季度國內生產總值722786億元，按可比價格計算同比增長0.7%。總體看，前三季度經濟增速由負轉正，供需關系逐步改善，市場活力動力增強，就業民生較好保障，國民經濟延續穩定恢復態勢。分季度看，一季度同比下降6.8%，二季度增長3.2%，三季度增長4.9%。
CNN19日談及中國取得的相關數據時表示，“低於5%的增長率通常在中國會引發擔憂，因為中國已經習慣瞭更快的增長。但考慮到當前的形勢，（中國的經濟數據）已經相當不錯瞭。要知道世界大多數其他大型經濟體的復蘇都還任重而道遠，與之相比，中國的表現就更瞭不起瞭。”
Growth of less than 5% would normally be a cause for real concern in China, which is accustomed to much quicker expansion. But it’s pretty good considering the circumstances, and even more remarkable when compared to the extremely fragile recoveries underway in most other big economies.

CNN回顧稱，最初，北京應對新冠病毒的方式還受到瞭一些西方政客的批評。但正是中國嚴格的防疫封鎖和檢測措施助其控制住瞭新冠病毒疫情；此外，中國還撥款數千億美元用於大型基礎設施項目，以推動經濟增長；央行也恪盡職守。（The country also set aside hundreds of billions of dollars for major infrastructure projects to fuel economic growth. The central bank has done its part, too.）
CNN反觀其它國傢，對比報道稱，歐美國傢現在正面臨另一波新冠病例激增的形勢。文章特別舉例美國，痛心地寫道：“幾乎每個州都在朝著錯誤的方向前進。”“平均每天有超過55000例新增感染病例——這一數字自9月中旬下降以來上漲瞭60%以上。”

CNN預測說，美國短期內可能不會進入封鎖狀態，但在病例數大幅減少之前，其經濟將一直處於癱瘓狀態。
The United States is probably not headed for a national lockdown anytime soon, but its economy will remain hamstrung until there’s a dramatic reduction in the number of coronavirus cases.
彭博社：全世界松瞭一口氣
此前，10月13日，國際貨幣基金組織（IMF）公佈最新一期“世界經濟展望”，預測今年世界經濟將萎縮4.4%。“世界經濟展望”中提到，中國將是世界主要經濟體中唯一保持正增長的國傢，預計今年增長為1.9%，明年將達到8.2%。
《紐約時報》介紹稱，“未來幾個月，中國的領先優勢可能進一步擴大。中國現在幾乎沒有本地新增病例，而美國和歐洲則面臨著另一波加速的疫情。”
China’s lead could widen further in the months to come. It has almost no local transmission of the virus now, while the United States and Europe face another accelerating wave of cases.
彭博社在評論文章中強調瞭中國經濟復蘇的全球貢獻。文章稱，中國經濟歸來，世界松瞭一口氣。如果沒有中國經濟這次反彈，剛剛開始的全球復蘇將變得更加脆弱。
China’s economy is back-ish and the world can exhale. Without this rebound, the nascent global recovery would be on even thinner ice.
